The Need
Children in Costa Rica are going without adaptive and mobility equipment that could profoundly impact their daily lives. At the same time, wheelchairs, walkers, adaptive seating, and other specialized equipment in the United States are routinely outgrown or no longer needed by their original users. Much of this equipment still has years of useful life remaining yet may sit in a storage or eventually be discarded.
We Bring The Two Together
Pura Vida Mobility for Children connects usable, adaptive and mobility equipment with children in Costa Rica who need it. We collect donated equipment, evaluate it for continued use, and work to place it where it can make a meaningful difference- giving valuable equipment renewed purposed while helping children gain greater mobility, independence, and access to their world.
Why It Matters
Mobility is about far more than getting from one place to another. The right equipment can help a child attend school, interact with friends, participate in family and community life. Explore their surroundings and experience greater independence.
